Cooking Instructions
Roast prep instructions: with a knife or scissors, carefully remove plastic casing and clips from the roast. place on a pan in aluminum foil, or in a lidded casserole dish. surround the roast with vegetables, if you wish. pour half of the baste of your choice, over the roast. wrap or cover tightly. cook in preheated oven at 350° for 1 hour and 20 minutes. uncover and pour remaining baste over roast. return to oven and cool: uncovered for 10 more minutes. if you forgot to thaw the roast, follow same instructions but cook for 2 hours and 20 minutes plus 15 minutes uncovered. two great options for baste: whisk these ingredients together to baste before roasting. 3 t. olive oil (or other vegetable oil), 1 t. soy sauce, 1 1/2 t. fresh or ground sage (optional.) tofurky also gets along great with things like veggie broth, minced garlic, a dash of red wine or herbs like thyme or marjoram. * do not thaw or cook in the microwave.
